 THE GIVING CHILD

TEAM TGC IS FOCUSED ON EMPOWERING KIDS

TO BE LITERAL SUPERHEROES THROUGH PLAYING EPIC GAME APPS

WHY EMPOWER KIDS?

"We must do all that we can, to give our children the best in education and social upbringing – for while they are the youth of today, they shall be the leaders of tomorrow” (John F. Kennedy).  In general, society includes kids exclusively in the terrible reality of the struggles their peers face around the world (starvation, dirty water, diseases, educational access issues, ect). But then leaves them helpless to do anything. Training them to fail at changing the world and causing kids to become desensitized. TGC is excited to include children in the solutions by creating fun packed, interactive, quest filled game apps that lead to the discovery of how much a difference can be made!

WHY MOBILE APPS?

”In the last two years, the percentage of kids using mobile apps jumped from 38% to 72%" (Common Sense Media). Game apps are the best way to appeal to kids and get them involved. TGC is creating game apps so cool that giving a person clean water for their lifetime is as fun and desirable to a kid as the latest and greatest wonder toy! Also, game apps bring in large revenue. According to Newzoo, a market-research firm, "mobile games will hit $30.3 billion in 2015". This is a big market with an impressive ability to influence the world positively. Game apps are a parent’s new babysitter. A kids new toy. And the world’s chance for change. We are marketing in schools, media, events, fundraising and competitions. Our fast paced, exciting game apps are designed and tested by obsessive gamers and mighty kids who love games!

IN SHORT, HOW DOES IT WORK?

Child hops on a handheld electronic device (pad/tablet or smartphone). Buys their chosen TGC game app. From the purchase, 90% of profits go toward a nonprofit related to the games cause (thus the literal, positive impact) and the other 10% of profits go toward the building of TGC's (also a nonprofit) next game... The child begins playing an educational game that showcases the chosen cause in an empowering and upbeat way whilst being super exhilarating!

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT HAPPENINGS AT TGC?

Ooh, Let me fill you in on the news of TGC’s growth! Currently, TGC is partnering with a group of School of Mines students to create a game app for The Heart and Hand Center, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless, fostered and at risk youth and their families. This includes providing hot nutritious meals along with academic support and enrichment activities. “The number of children living in poverty has increased 85 percent since 2000” (Colorado Coalition for the Homeless). Many of these children have at least one parent who has been incarcerated or deported. During after school hours, it is prime time for them to join the influential and swiftly growing gang community, engage in drugs and sexual activity. Heart and Hand offers them hope by providing an enticing program that includes engagements such as photography, art therapy, martial arts, ect. People from around the Denver area volunteer to help out with these activities along with hired staff.  When I visited Heart and Hand, two pro athletes were even volunteering. Our favorite part of creating a game app for Heart and Hand is that we will be empowering privileged kids to make a difference for the kids who live 15 minutes down the street. Isn’t that just stunning?! Are you ready for a SuperSecret? Heart and Hand is the secret location for Hero Headquarters. SHHHH! DON’T tell anyone.

WHAT IS OUR EXCITING FUTURE?

The game we are building for Heart and Hand has the capability to be used as a foundation for our next game. TGC is motivated to make games that support other nonprofits that work on wildlife rescue, the environment, and so many other world changing causes. Remember how I mentioned kids making a difference for kids 15 minutes down the road? Imagine when that grows into making a difference for their peers around the world, with a game app that is directed towards each child’s passion! I love people and at 6 years old was deeply affected with the realization of world hunger. The idea of eating dinner that night was a travesty. When you were a child, what really got your empathic self going? What does now? We’d love to hear about it.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO SHARE THIS AWESOMENESS?!

Our biggest focus is being introduced through private schools educational system. We’ve had some really great progress with this already and are looking forward to more! Also, a popular trend for birthday parties is having the invitation declare “In lieu of gifts, please donate to my child’s chosen charity_______”. TGC is the answer to making this trend more fun and beneficial for the giver and gifted. Beyond these methods we’ll help everyone be “in the know” through social media, events, parties, word of mouth and our newsletter. Check out our "PARTY PLAN" page with all the necessary details and ideas for crafts, snacks and games to throw an incredible Superhero Party. We are being proactive about getting people engaged because EVERYONE’s gotta know. They just gotta!!!
